Going Beyond Scripture: Why It’s Time to Say Good-Bye to Priscilla Shirer and Going Beyond Ministries

If you are considering commenting or sending me an e-mail objecting to the fact that I warn against false teachers, please click here and read this article first. Your objection is most likely answered here. I won’t be publishing comments or answering emails that are answered by this article.

This article is kept continuously updated as needed.

Priscilla Shirer is a wife and mom of three boys hailing from the Dallas area. Though you may have become acquainted with her over the last several years from her roles in the movies Overcomer and War Roomshe has been writing women’s Bible studies and has been a popular speaker at women’s conferences and other events for many years. Together with her husband, Jerry, she heads up Going Beyond Ministries.

When I participated in Priscilla’s DVD study He Speaks to Me several years ago, I found her to be an engaging writer, a witty storyteller, and charismatic speaker. Priscilla’s friendliness and genuine care for Christian women seem to shine through every word she speaks and writes. And to top that all off, she’s beautiful and sharp as a tack. It’s very easy to think of Priscilla and think, “What’s not to love?”

Which is why it grieves me to have to answer that question with: “Her theology.” Unfortunately, there are serious red flags about some of the things Priscilla does and teaches that Christian women who follow her, or are considering following her, need to be made aware of. And because of those issues, I deeply regret that I am not able to recommend her as I would like to. Should she repent in these areas in which she has broken Scripture and align herself with biblical principles, she would have no bigger fan than I, and I would rejoice to be able to point Christian women to her as a doctrinally sound resource.

Until that time, however, it saddens me to have to recommend that Christian women not follow Priscilla Shirer or any materials or activities from Going Beyond Ministries for the following reasons:

Preaching to Men

Priscilla unrepentantly preaches to and instructs men in the Scriptures in violation of 1 Timothy 2:12-14 (as well as other passages of Scripture that do not allow this). If you have followed me for any length of time, you have seen me raise this issue repeatedly regarding female Bible teachers and speakers. Yes, it’s a big deal and, yes, I will continue to teach and write about it. There are two crucial reasons for this.

First, this is a sinI am finding that more and more Christians have to be told this. When the Bible says not to do something and you do it anyway, that’s a sin. And the Bible says that women are not to preach to or instruct men, or to hold authority over men in the gathered body of Believers, the church. Though the consequences of the sin of instructing men may not appear to be severe, it is just as much of a sin as any other sin you can think of: adultery, lying, stealing, drunkenness, and so on. If you wouldn’t follow a male pastor or Bible teacher who was open and unrepentant about committing adultery or shoplifting or getting plowed every weekend, why would you follow any female Bible teacher who preaches to and instructs men?

Second, almost without exception, every female Bible teacher I know of who unrepentantly instructs men also teaches other doctrinal error (usually Word of Faith, New Apostolic Reformation or seeker driven false doctrine). So instructing men is a red flag to watch for if you’re looking for a doctrinally sound teacher.

If a woman is supposedly knowledgeable enough about the Bible to be in the position of teaching and authoring, yet doesn’t understand or obey such a basic biblical truth, what does that say about the rest of her knowledge of the Bible? How can you trust that anything else she teaches you about the Bible is accurate and true?

Partnering with False Teachers

Priscilla partners and associates with false teachers such as Joyce Meyer, Christine CaineJoel and Victoria Osteen, Beth Moore, and T.D. and Serita Jakes (see below). All of these people are proponents of the false and anti-biblical Word of Faith (prosperity gospel) doctrine, and the Jakeses are also modalists.  Paul is quite clear that people who preach “another gospel” are “accursed”, or damned, and that we are not to partner with them. John says virtually the same thing, and adds that to partner with false teachers is to take part in their wicked works. Again, when the Bible says not to do something, and a person does it anyway, this is sin.

On October 16, 2016, Priscilla and her husband, children, and mother were in attendance at T.D. Jakes’ “church,” The Potter’s House, where, during a God’s Leading Ladies graduation ceremony, Priscilla accepted the “Lady of Destiny” award. As you can see, she has warm words of praise and admiration for Serita Jakes (T.D.’s wife).

Here’s Priscilla speaking at a women’s conference at Joel Osteen’s Lakewood “Church”. (It’s hard to see in the quick audience pans, but there are also a few men visible here and there.) :

Priscilla Shirer: Your Spiritual Assignment (Full Teaching) | Praise on TBN (August 6, 2021)

Unbiblical Teaching

Priscilla teaches Christians to “listen for God’s voice” in an unbiblical form of “prayer” called contemplative prayer. Combining elements of Eastern mysticism and New Age spirituality, this practice of emptying the mind and listening for God’s voice is found nowhere in Scripture. When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray, He taught them:

Pray then like this: โ€œOur Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Matthew 6:9-13.

No mention of sitting in silence or listening here nor in any of the other passages in which the Bible teaches about prayer. Jesus taught us the way He wanted us to pray. Priscilla teaches something different.

Priscilla often uses poor hermeneutics when handling God’s word. Looking back over my copy of He Speaks to Me, and sifting through numerous videos of her teaching, it’s clear that her method of teaching is mainly eisegesis. She begins most lessons with a story or personal experience, uses these stories to formulate her own spiritual principles, and then adds in a smattering of Bible verses (often out of context) to support her ideas. Priscilla has also admitted in her book Discerning the Voice of God, p.39, that she reads herself into Scripture, an unbiblical practice sometimes called “narcissistic eisegesis” or “narcigesis”.

The proper method of teaching Scripture is exegesis. Exegesis is taking a passage of Scripture in context, and “leading out” of it- teaching what the passage means.

One example that best showcases Priscilla’s penchant for eisegesis and poor hermeneutics can be found in this promotional video for her study, One in a Million:

0:46- This same God was supposed to be speaking to me, teaching to me, making Himself relevant to me…in the regular rhythms of my everyday living…

Where does the Bible teach this? It doesn’t. God speaks to us and teaches us through the careful study and preaching of His word, not through subjective voices, feelings, and experiences in the “rhythms of everyday living” (what, precisely, does that phrase even mean?) Where does Priscilla get the idea that God is “supposed” to be speaking in these ways? Not from Scripture.

1:37- When these believers…who had experienced different things about God became part of my life, my eyes were opened to see God in a brand new way.

These “believers from different denominations” Priscilla references who rattled her “theological box” may have been part of Priscilla’s initial exposure to false Word of Faith teaching and false teachers such as the aforementioned Meyer, Caine, and Osteens.

Notice the emphasis around the 1:37 mark on people’s personal experiences (praying for miracles, etc.) rather than on the Bible. We do not build doctrine or what we believe about God on people’s subjective experiences. What we believe about God must come from Scripture alone. Personal experiences can be evidence of the truth of rightly handled and understood Scripture, but not vice versa.

2:57- Do you know that of the original two million Jewish people only two actually ever made it? (This is where the video above ends. The original promo video I used for this article has been deleted, {so I replaced it with the one above}, but in the original video, Priscilla goes on to say…) That’s one in a million. Well, man, if there’s only going to be a handful of people experiencing what we’ve learned on the pew…then I want one of those to be me.”

The story of Joshua and Caleb being the only ones to enter the Promised Land has absolutely no connection whatsoever with how many Christians today will be able to achieve intimacy with God. None. The Bible doesn’t say anywhere that because only two people out of two million entered the Promised Land that only “a handful of people” will be able to “experience” (there’s that word again) “what we’ve learned on the pew.”

Furthermore (since Priscilla looks to tangible experiences and anecdotal evidence as support for her ideas), both anecdotal church history and the experiences of Christians who are alive today prove this idea to be false. Untold millions of Christians over the last two thousand years have studied God’s word, grown close to Him, matured in their faith, and walked faithfully with Him throughout their lives. God doesn’t limit to a select few the number of Christians who are able to grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus the way He limited entrance to the Promised Land. In fact, the Bible says the opposite. It is God’s plan for every Christian to grow to spiritual maturity and intimacy with Him.

But growth to spiritual maturity through the study of God’s word and faithful obedience to Him isn’t what Priscilla is offering through this study. Instead, she is dangling in front of Christian women an emotionally appealing and unbiblical carrot of miraculous and unique personal experiences with God instead of teaching them to properly study their Bibles and rely on Scripture alone for their doctrine and practices.

Though there are others, these are the major doctrinal errors in this video, which is less than four minutes of teaching from Priscilla.

1 Corinthians 4:6 says:

I have applied all these things to myself and Apollos for your benefit, brothers, that you may learn by us not to go beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up in favor of one against another.

It is a sad irony that Priscilla Shirer opted to name her ministry “Going Beyond,” because this is exactly what she is choosing to do right now. She goes beyond what is written in teaching men, in partnering with false teachers, in teaching unbiblical prayer practices, and in using improper hermeneutics. Therefore, it is my recommendation that women not follow, support, or receive teaching from Priscilla Shirer or Going Beyond Ministries at this time.

Wednesday's Word

Wednesday’s Word ~ Galatians 1

gal 1 23 24

Galatians 1

Paul, anย apostleโ€”not from men nor through man, butย through Jesus Christ and God the Father,ย who raised him from the deadโ€”ย 2ย and allย the brothersย who are with me,

Toย the churches of Galatia:

3ย Grace to you and peaceย from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ,ย 4ย who gave himself for our sins to deliver us from the presentย evil age, according to the will ofย our God and Father,ย 5ย to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

6ย I am astonished that you areย so quickly desertingย him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning toย a different gospelโ€”ย 7ย not that there is another one, butย there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.ย 8ย But even if we orย an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you,ย let him be accursed.ย 9ย As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received,ย let him be accursed.

10ย For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I tryingย to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be aย servantย of Christ.

11ย Forย I would have you know, brothers, thatย the gospel that was preached by me is not man’s gospel.12ย For I did not receive it from any man, nor was I taught it, but I received itย through a revelation of Jesus Christ.ย 13ย For you have heard ofย my former life in Judaism, howย I persecuted the church of God violently and tried to destroy it.ย 14ย And I was advancing in Judaism beyond many of my own age among my people, so extremelyย zealous was I forย the traditions of my fathers.ย 15ย But when heย who had set me apartย before I was born,ย and whoย called me by his grace,ย 16ย was pleased to reveal his Son toย me, in orderย that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately consult with anyone;ย 17ย nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me, but I went away into Arabia, and returned again to Damascus.

18ย Thenย after three years I went up to Jerusalem to visit Cephas and remained with him fifteen days.19ย But I saw none of the other apostles except Jamesย the Lord’s brother.ย 20ย (In what I am writing to you,before God, I do not lie!)ย 21ย Then I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia.ย 22ย And I was still unknown in person toย the churches of Judea that are in Christ.ย 23ย They only were hearing it said, โ€œHe who used to persecute us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy.โ€ย 24ย And they glorified God because of me.

Questions to Consider:

1. Who called Paul to be an apostle, and by whose authority does he address the churches at Galatia? (1-3)

2. The Galatian churches (6-9) were being drawn away from the gospel by the Judaizers, who insisted that the new Gentile Christians could not be saved unless they were alsoย circumcised, observed Jewish law, feasts, festivals, etc. Why did Paul call the Judaizers’ ideas “another gospel”? What did Paul indicate would be the Judaizers’ fate? (8,9) Why would God be so harsh with these false teachers?

3. What are some ways false teachers today try to add requirements to the gospel (repent of your sin and place your faith in Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection as payment for your sin, and you will be saved)? Does God take false teaching as seriously today as He did in Paul’s time?

4. In verse 10, whose approval is Paul seeking by saying the things he said in verses 1-9? Why does he say he wouldn’t be serving Christ if he were trying to please men?

5. How did Paul learn the gospel? (12) What was the purpose of his three years in Arabia and Damascus (17)? What point is Paul trying to make to the Galatians by telling them the things in verses 11-24? (Hint- Read through Galatians 2:2)

Wednesday’s Word ~ Jude

Jude

Jude, a servantย of Jesus Christ and brother of James,

To those who are called,ย beloved in God the Father andย kept forย Jesus Christ:

2ย Mayย mercy,ย peace, and love be multiplied to you.

3ย Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about ourย common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to youย to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.ย 4ย Forย certain peopleย have crept in unnoticedย who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervertย the grace of our God into sensuality andย deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

5ย Now I wantย to remind you, although you once fully knew it, thatย Jesus, who savedย a people out of the land of Egypt,ย afterward destroyed those who did not believe.ย 6ย Andย the angels who did not stay within their own position of authority, but left their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains under gloomy darkness until the judgment of the great dayโ€”ย 7ย just asย Sodom and Gomorrah andย the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality andย pursued unnatural desire,ย serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.

8ย Yet in like manner these people also, relying on their dreams, defile the flesh, reject authority, andย blaspheme the glorious ones.ย 9ย But whenย the archangelย Michael, contending with the devil, was disputingย about the body of Moses, he did not presume to pronounce a blasphemous judgment, but said,ย โ€œThe Lord rebuke you.โ€ย 10ย But these people blaspheme all that they do not understand, and they are destroyed by all that they, like unreasoning animals, understand instinctively.ย 11ย Woe to them! For they walked inย the way of Cain and abandoned themselves for the sake of gainย to Balaam’s error andperished in Korah’s rebellion.ย 12ย These are hidden reefsย at your love feasts, as they feast with you without fear,ย shepherds feeding themselves;ย waterless clouds,ย swept along by winds; fruitless trees in late autumn, twice dead,ย uprooted;ย 13ย wild waves of the sea, casting up the foam ofย their own shame;ย wandering stars,ย for whom the gloom of utter darkness has been reserved forever.

14ย It was also about these that Enoch,ย the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying,ย โ€œBehold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his holy ones,ย 15ย to execute judgment on all and to convict all the ungodly of all their deeds of ungodliness that they haveย committed in such an ungodly way, and of allย the harsh things that ungodly sinners have spoken against him.โ€ย 16ย These are grumblers, malcontents,ย following their own sinful desires;ย they are loud-mouthed boasters,ย showing favoritism to gain advantage.

17ย But you mustย remember, beloved, the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ.ย 18ย Theyย said to you,ย โ€œIn the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.โ€ย 19ย It is these who cause divisions, worldly people,ย devoid of the Spirit.ย 20ย But you, beloved,ย building yourselves up in your most holy faith andย praying in the Holy Spirit,ย 21ย keep yourselves in the love of God,ย waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.ย 22ย And have mercy on those who doubt;ย 23ย save others byย snatching them out ofย the fire; to others show mercyย with fear, hating evenย the garmentย stained by the flesh.

24ย Now to him who is ableย to keep you from stumbling andย to present youย blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy,ย 25ย toย the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord,ย be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.

Questions to Consider:

1. What is the overall theme of Jude?

2. According to verse 4, why did Jude feel it necessary to write on the topic of contending for the faith instead of the topic of salvation?

3. What are “the way of Cain” (Genesis 4:5-8), “Balaam’s error” (2 Peter 2:15), and “Korah’s rebellion” (Numbers 16), mentioned in verse 11? What led Jude to give the false teachers these labels?

4. According to verses 17-19, who is it that causes division in the church, the false teachers or those rebuking the false teachers?

5. How does the book of Jude apply to the church today?

False Doctrine, False Teachers, New Apostolic Reformation, Top 10

Top 10 NAR* and Seeker-Driven Buzzwords

I study false teachers pretty often. I watch their videos, listen to their sermons, and read their articles. And I’ve noticed that there are some common buzzwords that New Apostolic Reformation* and Seeker-Driven false teachers tend to use over and over again. Naturally, these words are just that: words. Just because you hear your pastor, Sunday School teacher, or favorite Christian celebrity utter one or more of them doesn’t necessarily mean he or she is a heretic. But if you’re constantly hearing these words and phrases, it could be a red flag that you need to vet the person you’re listening to more carefully and see whether or not his or her theology matches up to what the Bible says. So, here, in no particular order are 10 such buzzwords and some of the false teachers who are fond of them:

1. The Glory

7. Holyspirit

A number of NAR personalities refer to the third Person of the Trinity as “Holyspirit” -as though that were His first name- instead ofย the Holy Spirit. For example, “Holyspirit said to me the other day…”

It is nearly impossible to isolate a text example of this as a) it is usually verbal and b) search engines always include the word “the” in search results.

Wednesday's Word

Wednesday’s Word ~ Jeremiah 23

1937485_824377827603153_712723081626384146_n

Jeremiah 23:

โ€œWoe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture!โ€ declares the Lord. 2 Therefore thus says the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning the shepherds who care for my people: โ€œYou have scattered my flock and have driven them away, and you have not attended to them. Behold, I will attend to you for your evil deeds, declares the Lord. 3 Then I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them, and I will bring them back to their fold, and they shall be fruitful and multiply. 4 I will set shepherds over them who will care for them, and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall any be missing, declares the Lord.

5 โ€œBehold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. 6 In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called: โ€˜The Lord is our righteousness.โ€™

7 โ€œTherefore, behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when they shall no longer say, โ€˜As the Lord lives who brought up the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt,โ€™ 8 but โ€˜As the Lord lives who brought up and led the offspring of the house of Israel out of the north country and out of all the countries where he had driven them.โ€™ Then they shall dwell in their own land.โ€

Lying Prophets
9 Concerning the prophets:

My heart is broken within me;
all my bones shake;
I am like a drunken man,
like a man overcome by wine,
because of the Lord
and because of his holy words.
10 For the land is full of adulterers;
because of the curse the land mourns,
and the pastures of the wilderness are dried up.
Their course is evil,
and their might is not right.
11 โ€œBoth prophet and priest are ungodly;
even in my house I have found their evil,
declares the Lord.
12 Therefore their way shall be to them
like slippery paths in the darkness,
into which they shall be driven and fall,
for I will bring disaster upon them
in the year of their punishment,
declares the Lord.
13 In the prophets of Samaria
I saw an unsavory thing:
they prophesied by Baal
and led my people Israel astray.
14 But in the prophets of Jerusalem
I have seen a horrible thing:
they commit adultery and walk in lies;
they strengthen the hands of evildoers,
so that no one turns from his evil;
all of them have become like Sodom to me,
and its inhabitants like Gomorrah.โ€
15 Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts concerning the prophets:
โ€œBehold, I will feed them with bitter food
and give them poisoned water to drink,
for from the prophets of Jerusalem
ungodliness has gone out into all the land.โ€

16 Thus says the Lord of hosts: โ€œDo not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you, filling you with vain hopes. They speak visions of their own minds, not from the mouth of the Lord. 17 They say continually to those who despise the word of the Lord, โ€˜It shall be well with youโ€™; and to everyone who stubbornly follows his own heart, they say, โ€˜No disaster shall come upon you.โ€™โ€

18 For who among them has stood in the council of the Lord
to see and to hear his word,
or who has paid attention to his word and listened?
19 Behold, the storm of the Lord!
Wrath has gone forth,
a whirling tempest;
it will burst upon the head of the wicked.
20 The anger of the Lord will not turn back
until he has executed and accomplished
the intents of his heart.
In the latter days you will understand it clearly.

21 โ€œI did not send the prophets,
yet they ran;
I did not speak to them,
yet they prophesied.
22 But if they had stood in my council,
then they would have proclaimed my words to my people,
and they would have turned them from their evil way,
and from the evil of their deeds.

23 โ€œAm I a God at hand, declares the Lord, and not a God far away? 24 Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? declares the Lord. 25 I have heard what the prophets have said who prophesy lies in my name, saying, โ€˜I have dreamed, I have dreamed!โ€™ 26 How long shall there be lies in the heart of the prophets who prophesy lies, and who prophesy the deceit of their own heart, 27 who think to make my people forget my name by their dreams that they tell one another, even as their fathers forgot my name for Baal? 28 Let the prophet who has a dream tell the dream, but let him who has my word speak my word faithfully. What has straw in common with wheat? declares the Lord. 29 Is not my word like fire, declares the Lord, and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces? 30 Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, declares the Lord, who steal my words from one another. 31 Behold, I am against the prophets, declares the Lord, who use their tongues and declare, โ€˜declares the Lord.โ€™ 32 Behold, I am against those who prophesy lying dreams, declares the Lord, and who tell them and lead my people astray by their lies and their recklessness, when I did not send them or charge them. So they do not profit this people at all, declares the Lord.

33 โ€œWhen one of this people, or a prophet or a priest asks you, โ€˜What is the burden of the Lord?โ€™ you shall say to them, โ€˜You are the burden, and I will cast you off, declares the Lord.โ€™ 34 And as for the prophet, priest, or one of the people who says, โ€˜The burden of the Lord,โ€™ I will punish that man and his household. 35 Thus shall you say, every one to his neighbor and every one to his brother, โ€˜What has the Lord answered?โ€™ or โ€˜What has the Lord spoken?โ€™ 36 But โ€˜the burden of the Lordโ€™ you shall mention no more, for the burden is every man’s own word, and you pervert the words of the living God, the Lord of hosts, our God. 37 Thus you shall say to the prophet, โ€˜What has the Lord answered you?โ€™ or โ€˜What has the Lord spoken?โ€™ 38 But if you say, โ€˜The burden of the Lord,โ€™ thus says the Lord, โ€˜Because you have said these words, โ€œThe burden of the Lord,โ€ when I sent to you, saying, โ€œYou shall not say, โ€˜The burden of the Lord,โ€™โ€ 39 therefore, behold, I will surely lift you up and cast you away from my presence, you and the city that I gave to you and your fathers. 40 And I will bring upon you everlasting reproach and perpetual shame, which shall not be forgotten.โ€™โ€

Questions to Consider:

1. What is the purpose of theย bookย ofย Jeremiah? Which genre(s) of biblical literature (prophecy, epistle, narrative, wisdom, etc.) is the book of Jeremiah? What is the historical backdrop for this book?

2. Who are the “shepherds” in 1-4? Compare these shepherds to the “thieves and robbers,” “strangers,” and “hired hands” (false teachers), the gatekeeper (faithful pastors; also here), and the Good Shepherd (Jesus; also here) in John 10. What have they done that they should not have done? What have they failed to do that they should have done?

3. Who is “the righteous Branch” (5) and “the Lord is our righteousness” (6)?

4. How does this chapter of Jeremiah point us ahead to Jesus’ first and second coming? Take note of all of the instances in this chapter in which God says, “I will” do thus and so, such and such will happen, and “the days are coming when…”. Which of these things were accomplished in Jesus’ first coming, and which will be accomplished when He comes back?

5. Make a chart with the following columns and fill it out as you start at the beginning of chapter 23 and work your way through to the end:

False prophets characterized:

Things false prophets say:

How God says things should or will be:

God’s true word characterized:

God characterized:

God’s judgment on false prophets:

How God’s people should respond to false prophets:

Do you see any similarities between the false prophets of Jeremiah’s day and the false teachers of today? What do today’s false teachers promise and “prophesy”? Does God characterize today’s false teachers the same way as the false prophets of Jeremiah’s day, and will He judge them the same way? What should be our (the church, and individual Christians) response be to false teachers today?
