Seriously, when are we going to start boycotting Hillsong? What’s it going to take?
I should be used to it by now, but I scarcely know how to begin expressing my shock and disgust at this.

The Naked Cowboy Appears at Hillsong Women’s Conference
Hillsong holds an annual conference for women called the Colour Conference. This year at Hillsong- New York’s (yes, unfortunately, this blasphemous organization masquerading as a church has made it from Australia to the U.S.) Colour Conference, the organizers decided it would be a great idea to feature a “Naked Cowboy” impersonater. (If you don’t know who the Naked Cowboy is, Google at your own risk.)
Now let that sink in a minute: a mostly naked, good looking young man. On stage. In front of thousands of women.
What do you think was the reason for that?
It wasn’t during a regular Sunday morning “worship” service. Or at a men’s conference. Or at a youth event.
It wasn’t because the Naked Cowboy is known for leading any sort of biblical worship.
Hillsong had their youth “pastor” impersonate someone whose claim to fame is being nearly naked in public. In front of a crowd of women.
I can’t imagine any way you could spin this to convince people he was there for any reason besides being an object of lust for those women, like a male stripper at a bachelorette party.
A nearly naked “pastor” on stage to be lusted after. At a “Christian” conference for “Christian” women.
I’d like to take a moment here to remind you that this is the “church” that produced Christine Caine, and that she, Beth Moore, and Priscilla Shirer – false teachers, all – have all been featured speakers at past Colour Conferences.
When your church uses Hillsong music in your worship service or buys other Hillsong materials, this is the organization your offering money is supporting.
If it wasn’t enough that Hillsong teaches heretical Word of Faith theology (and it should be enough), is this enough to be the straw that breaks the camel’s back for your church when it comes to using Hillsong materials?
Lots of Christians are boycotting Target over something as Kingdom-inconsequential as bathroom equality. Nobody’s going to spend an eternity in hell because of the bathroom he uses. But people do spend their eternities in hell for believing the false doctrine Hillsong and other Word of Faith organizations peddle. Isn’t it time for us to sweep around our own front door and give heresy the boot? When are we going to start boycotting false teachers and heretical “churches” like Hillsong?

Agreed. It’s amazing that so many people are accepting this ‘new’ Jesus and his comfortable teachings. Or is it? This saddens me and reminds me to be ever vigilant and compare everything to scripture. We are warned that deception is going to be rampant and beguiling. Though this naked cowboy stunt would seem to be so obviously off track, apparently it isn’t?

Thumbs up from an ex-Charismatic who’s been debating with Hillsong supporters online for quite a while now.
On behalf of Aussie bible believing Christians, I apologise for Hill$ong pseudo-church successfully infiltrating international churches via music masquerading as worship and the Aussie charm *translation* ability to pull your leg/ play the underdog card. Cultural thing to know about Australians: Many know how to speak as if we’re giving ourselves a hard time but are really praising ourselves.
As a result listeners who don’t know “the dialect” can listen to the Houstons and jump to conclusions. Many listeners would assume because they’ve spoken so much about what they’ve got since they first made a decision for Jesus AND claim that Hillsong Church started from such ordinary beginnings, but they sound so humble….therefore the Houstons must be sincere, genuine Christians no matter what those meanie, “intellectual Pharisees” (yes, Brian Houston actually called an online discerning Christian man that!) might say.
In reality Houston is sincerely insincere. He is an expert word gamer who knows the Christian lingo (language) enough to fool kindhearted Christians into remaining undiscerning about Hillsong. I think what has made it hard for foreigners especially is that Hillsong leaders sound nothing like many traditional televangelists who obviously blow their own trumpet with no shame at all. Unless it’s sports, the average Aussie is not game to openly show they are better than anyone else because they know they’re likely to get shot down, real quick.
Therefore because Hillsong seems so humble, so sincere, so loving and don’t spout off any weird teachings like usual cults do, no traditional Christian Apologetics ministry has taught against them yet like they do about cults and different religions.
It’s not what so much what Hillsong adds – although it is also Word-of-Faith (low fat diet version), it’s what Hillsong leaves OUT that makes it especially dangerous. Hillsong avoids teachings about sin and repentance like the plague. The whole Gospel is never preached. The average online Hillsongee has no ability to defend their church using bible verses in context.
The online/ actual behaviour of both leaders and Hillsongees is often questionable. The coverup lists in Hillsong church’s history is very long. Footage of what is actually happening supposedly in the name of Christ is shining the light onto Hillsong and it isn’t pretty. The fruits of their teachings are finally starting to be shown on other websites than formal discernment ministry ones.

Thanks so much for the “insider information”! No need to apologize, it’s not the fault of Bible believing Christians that this mess has made its way across the pond. Those with itching ears “accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions.” (2 Timothy 4:3). I was very encouraged to hear from many on social media that they had already spotted Hillsong’s false doctrine a while back and “boycotted” it. People are catching on, it’s just a slow process :0)
